Boston Nocturnist Hospitalist — Full-Time, Teaching, Competitive Pay & Benefits

We’re looking for a dedicated, compassionate nocturnist to join our busy hospitalist team in Boston. This full-time, hospital-employed role offers a balanced mix of admissions and inpatient care, meaningful teaching opportunities, and strong peer support within a collaborative, team-based environment.

What the role looks like

• Schedule: Primarily nights—weeknights 6:45 PM–7:00 AM and weekends 6:30 PM–7:00 AM (one weekend shift may extend to 7:30 AM). You’ll also cover one daytime weekend shift, 7:00 AM–7:00 PM (10 patients).
• Shift frequency: Average of 12 twelve-hour shifts per month.
• Patient load: Typically 4–5 admissions per shift with cross-coverage of about 30–40 patients.
• Team structure: Nights are staffed by a team of nine nocturnists with sick-call backup available.
• Academic involvement: Opportunities to teach medical students and residents; academic appointments available.
• New grads: Recent graduates are welcome and will receive mentorship and support.

• Competitive base salary starting at $295,000+ for new graduates, increasing with experience.

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited institution.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
• Completion of an accredited residency program.
• Eligible for a Massachusetts medical license.
• Prior hospitalist experience is a plus but not required.
