Locum Tenens Inpatient Cardiology NP/PA — 12-hr Day Shifts, Asheville NC

We are seeking an experienced locum advanced practice provider to deliver inpatient cardiology coverage in Asheville, NC. This role is well suited to an NP or PA with solid cardiology background who is comfortable managing step-down and cardiology unit patients in a collaborative hospital environment using Cerner.

Assignment details

• 12-hour day shifts
• Coverage required 7 days/week, primarily daytime
• Hospital-based inpatient cardiology service
• EMR: Cerner

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily rounds on admitted patients and consults on the general cardiology service
• Manage step-down and cardiology unit patients, coordinating care with cardiology attendings
• Complete documentation including daily progress notes, event notes, admission H&Ps, new consult notes, and discharge summaries
• Order medications, diagnostic tests, and procedures as indicated
• Perform bedside ICU procedures as needed (arterial lines, central lines, cardioversion)
• Collaborate closely with cardiologists, nursing staff, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient care

Requirements

• NP or PA with significant cardiology experience (inpatient preferred)
• Active North Carolina professional license
• Active North Carolina DEA registration
• Comfortable performing bedside ICU procedures and working independently in an acute care setting
