Trauma & Acute Care Surgery NP/PA – Training Provided | Stockbridge, GA (1+ yr)

Join a busy trauma and acute care surgery team at a leading trauma center in Stockbridge, GA. We seek a motivated Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA)—experienced or early-career—with a solid clinical foundation and a strong interest in trauma and surgical care. Training and mentorship will be provided for the right candidate.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with attending surgeons to manage trauma and emergency general surgery patients
• Perform initial assessments, daily rounds, consults, and discharge planning
• Assist with and perform credentialed procedures (e.g., suturing, wound care, tube placement)
• First assist in the OR and help manage pre- and post-operative care
• Participate in trauma activations and resuscitations as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Accurately document all patient encounters and procedures in the EMR
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and discharge instructions
• Engage in ongoing training to develop trauma/ACS competencies

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited NP or PA program
• Active Georgia license or eligibility to obtain one before start date
• BLS and ACLS required; ATLS preferred
• Minimum one year of clinical experience
• Strong communication skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Interest or background in surgical or critical care is preferred
