Locums Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) — Sault Ste. Marie, MI

Location: Sault Ste. Marie, MI (Upper Peninsula) — scenic, outdoor recreational area; close to Canada.

Assignment type: Locum tenens — clinic work with scheduled call coverage.

Schedule

• Clinic: Mon–Thu, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
• Call rotation: 1:4 or 1:5 (includes weekdays and weekends)
  • Weekday call: 3:00 PM–7:00 AM
  • Weekend call: 3:00 PM Friday–7:00 AM Monday
  • Typical weekend frequency: ~1 night of call per week
• Case mix: ~85% outpatient, 15% inpatient

Case types

• Endoscopy
• General surgery
• OB/GYN
• Orthopedics
• Urology
• Regional blocks preferred but not required
• No cardiac or neurosurgical cases

Clinical responsibilities

• Provide anesthesia care for listed procedures in outpatient and inpatient settings
• Respond to scheduled call for urgent/emergent anesthesia needs
• Perform spinals, epidurals, venous and arterial catheter placement
• Collaborate with surgical and anesthesia teams to ensure safe perioperative care
• Document in EPIC; Dragon voice recognition available

Requirements

• Active Michigan CRNA license (required)
• NBCRNA certification
• 1–2 years CRNA experience preferred
• Competency with spinals, epidurals, venous and arterial lines
• AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS current

• Supportive, well-equipped clinical setting
• No cardiac/neuro cases; primarily ambulatory surgery and common specialties
