Locum tenens Emergency Medicine physician opportunity in Sanford, FL.
Position type
- Temporary/locum tenens schedule, flexible shifts covering emergency department needs.
Core responsibilities
- Provide high-quality emergency care across a broad range of acute conditions.
- Perform rapid, thorough patient assessments including history, physical exam, and diagnostic interpretation.
- Develop and implement treatment plans, including medication management, procedural interventions, and minor emergency procedures.
- Stabilize, resuscitate, and triage patients; coordinate care with consultants and inpatient teams.
- Document care accurately and comply with departmental policies and quality/safety standards.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff in a fast-paced environment.
Required qualifications
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine (ABEM or AOBEM).
- Active Florida medical license.
- Current ACLS and PALS certifications.
- Strong emergency medicine clinical skills, ability to perform common ED procedures, and effective teamwork under pressure.
