Locum Tenens Emergency Medicine Physician — Ocala, FL

Join our Ocala, FL emergency department as a locum physician providing high-quality, evidence-based emergency care.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients of all ages presenting to the ED.
• Perform procedures common to emergency medicine (airway management, intubation, chest tube placement, laceration repair, fracture/splinting, procedural sedation, etc.).
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests; initiate treatment plans and dispositions (admit, discharge, transfer).
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, consultants, and ED staff.
• Document encounters accurately and timely in the medical record and comply with facility policies and quality/safety protocols.
• Participate in handoffs, critical event management, and any required departmental meetings while on assignment.

Required qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
• Board certified or board eligible in Emergency Medicine.
• Active, unrestricted medical license in Florida (or eligibility to obtain one prior to start).
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
• Proven clinical competency in a high-volume ED environment and strong procedural skills.

• Ocala, Florida: central FL community with access to outdoor recreation and local amenities.
