Trauma Surgery Physician Assistant — Per Diem (Stockbridge, GA)

Schedule: Full time

Position summary
Provide trauma and perioperative care as a core member of the trauma surgery team. Manage assessment, treatment, and follow-up for critically ill and injured patients; assist in operative care; participate in emergency trauma responses and multidisciplinary coordination.

Key responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive trauma assessments: history, focused physical exam, and diagnostic interpretation.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment and disposition plans in collaboration with trauma surgeons.
• Assist in trauma operations: pre-op prep, intraoperative support, and post-op management.
• Provide emergency response care for critically ill/injured patients and follow established trauma protocols.
• Coordinate care with surgeons, nurses, respiratory therapy, and other services; participate in rounds and case conferences.
• Educate patients and families on injuries, treatment plans, discharge instructions, and follow-up care.
• Document patient encounters and maintain compliance with institutional and regulatory standards.

Required qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C).
• Current Georgia PA license.
• Significant experience in trauma care and surgical settings preferred.
