Job Description

Assignment summary

  • Coverage period: ASAP through Dec 31, 2026 (supplemental coverage)
  • Schedule: Night shifts. Typical weekday coverage Mon–Fri 4:00 p.m.–8:00 a.m.; Sat 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.; 24‑hour shifts may be available
  • Coverage type: Clinical only
  • Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance: Provided by agency

Patient population & workload

  • Care setting: Level IV Neonatal ICU, high-acuity neonatal patients
  • Average daily census: ~10 patients
  • Rounding: Assigned patient panels

Clinical responsibilities

  • Manage daily care of critically ill NICU patients in collaboration with attending neonatologists
  • Perform common NICU procedures: PICC/UVC/UAC placement, chest tube insertion, lumbar puncture, and endotracheal intubation
  • Participate in neonatal ground and air transport when required
  • Complete orientation and required training modules

Facility & team

  • NICU capacity: 56 beds
  • EMR: Cerner
  • Support staff: ~20–22 RNs, 2–3 APPs, 1 administrative staff

Credentials & requirements

  • Board: BC (board certified)
  • State license: Pennsylvania or IMLC participation
  • Certifications: BLS, PALS, NRP required
  • Experience: Prior neonatal critical care and transport experience preferred
  • Hospital privileges: Temporary privileges not available; hospital privileges not required for this assignment

Reason for coverage: Supplemental staffing for inpatient night coverage
