Schedule

• Call only, 24-hour beeper coverage, Monday–Sunday
• Call ratio 0–5; 30-minute response time

Coverage & Logistics

• Service setting: Inpatient and outpatient
• Reason: Vacancy — long-term permanent search
• Preferred agreement: all-inclusive (travel, lodging, malpractice); vendor covers malpractice; travel may be billed separately per invoice rules

Patient Volume & Clinical Duties

• Average daily inpatient census: 4–6; admissions ≈4/day
• Clinic volume: up to 15 patients/day
• Phone consults: 0–3 per shift
• Rounding: inpatient and outpatient as needed

Facility & Support

• EMR: McKesson and Athena
• Support staff: hospital RNs, hospital MAs, CNM for PA/NP coverage

Privileges & Compliance

• Hospital privileges required; temporary privileges available
• NC medical license required; NC Medicaid enrollment required

Required Procedures & Clinical Competencies

• Low- and high-risk pregnancy management
• FHR interpretation (NST/CST/FSE)
• OB ultrasound performance and interpretation (Level I/screening, viability)
• Routine vaginal delivery and decision-making for cesarean
• Complicated deliveries (cesarean, breech, multiple births, abruptions)
• Repair of 3rd and 4th degree lacerations
• Office/minor gynecology (IUD insertion, cystoscopy, colposcopy, cryosurgery, LEEP, etc.)
• Surgical gynecology: diagnostic and minor laparoscopy (tubal ligation, LOA), operative/major cases (ectopic pregnancy, oophorectomy, cystectomy, extensive LOA)

Qualifications

• Board Eligible (BE) in OB/GYN
• NC medical license; NC Medicaid enrollment
• Certifications: ACLS, Intermediate Fetal Monitoring
• Fellowship preferred

Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide 24/7 beeper call coverage for OB/GYN at assigned hospital (Haywood or Harris)
• Manage admissions, perform rounding, respond within 30 minutes
• Perform required obstetric and gynecologic procedures and surgeries
• Document care accurately in McKesson and Athena
• Collaborate with RNs, MAs, and CNM staff to ensure patient safety and continuity of care
