Locum Tenens Psychiatrist (Call-Only)

We are seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Psychiatrist to provide call-only locum tenens coverage for a well-established hospital behavioral health program. This role offers flexible scheduling and focuses on consultative psychiatric support for inpatient and emergency department patients.

Key responsibilities

• Provide after-hours psychiatric call coverage for inpatient and ED behavioral health cases
• Conduct psychiatric evaluations and formulate treatment recommendations
• Assess patients presenting with behavioral health emergencies, including suicide risk and acute psychiatric crises
• Collaborate closely with emergency medicine physicians, hospitalists, nursing staff, and behavioral health teams
• Recommend admissions, transfers, discharges, or outpatient follow-up based on clinical judgment
