Job Description
We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for an ongoing locum urgent care opportunity in Pennsylvania. Providers will work 12-hour shifts across multiple nearby clinics, treating patients of all ages with common urgent care conditions while practicing independently.
Overview
- Monday–Sunday, 8:00 AM–8:00 PM
- 12-hour shifts
- No call responsibilities
- Epic EMR
- Outpatient urgent care clinics
- Travel between Harrisburg, Linglestown, Mechanicsburg, and Carlisle locations
- Medical assistants and radiology technicians onsite
- Remote physician support available when no physician is onsite
- Average patient volume: 3–4 patients per hour
Typical Cases
- Cold and flu symptoms
- Upper respiratory infections
- Rashes
- Minor burns
- Abrasions and lacerations
- Sprains and strains
- Wound care
- Incision and drainage (I&D)
- Splinting
- X-rays and EKGs
- Blood draws and IV placement
- Higher acuity patients are referred to the emergency department
Provider Requirements
- Board Certified NP or PA
- Active Pennsylvania license required
- DEA and Pennsylvania CSR required
- ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications
- Minimum of:
- 2 years of urgent care experience, or
- 1 year of emergency medicine experience
