Locum Tenens Anesthesiologist — Hospital-Based (Richmond, VA)

Hospital-based locum position in Richmond, VA providing general anesthesiology for adult inpatients across three hospital sites.

Scope of work

• Provide perioperative anesthesia care for adult patients in an inpatient setting
• Participate in in-house call coverage and cross-cover as needed across three hospital campuses
• Documentation and coordination with surgical teams, PACU, and ICU as required

Schedule

• Flexible scheduling; preferred rotation: 7 days on / 7 days off
• In-house call required from 18:00–07:00 (6:00 PM–7:00 AM)
• Must be available for assigned call shifts

Compensation

• $300–$350 per hour

Requirements

• MD/DO with completion of an accredited anesthesiology residency
• Virginia medical license or ability to obtain one
• Board certified in anesthesiology and actively participating in Maintenance of Certification (MOC)
• Active DEA and Controlled Substances Registration (CSR)
• Willingness to be cross-credentialed at all three hospital sites

Credentials and onboarding

• Credentialing across three hospitals required prior to start
• Standard hospital privileging and orientation to institutional policies and protocols
