Join a team in Richmond, Indiana for a short-term locum tenens assignment covering both inpatient and outpatient cardiothoracic care from 10/08/2026 to 10/12/2026. Your weekday schedule will include morning surgeries and an afternoon clinic, with continuous inpatient/ER call coverage throughout the assignment (respond as needed).

What you’ll be working with

• Adult cardiothoracic surgery patients, with an inpatient census typically around 2–5.
• Case mix includes CABG, aortic valve replacement (AVR), TAVR, and urgent/emergency cardiothoracic procedures.
• You’ll admit patients, round in the ICU and post-op settings, and handle phone consults from the cath lab, inpatient teams, and the ER.
• Expect to complete order entry and documentation in Epic.

Facility and support

• Large community hospital (220+ beds), Level III trauma center.
• Full cardiology program on site, including TAVR support.
• Multidisciplinary surgical team and a standard cardiothoracic clinic setup are available to assist.

Privileges, credentialing, and logistics

• Hospital privileges are required; credentialing typically takes 30–60 days.
• Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance are covered.

Requirements

• Active Indiana medical license
• Board certified
• DEA registration preferred
• BLS (AHA)
• At least 2 years’ experience
• Clean background check and documentation of flu/COVID vaccination or approved exemption
