Locum interventional cardiology opportunity in Eureka, CA (95501) providing inpatient, call-only coverage. Coverage begins Nov 11, 2026 and continues on an ongoing basis with the following confirmed blocks: Nov 11–17, Nov 25–Dec 1, Dec 8–11, and Dec 18–Jan 1. Schedule: 24-hour beeper call shifts (7:00 AM–7:00 AM) with a 20-minute response expectation. Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance are provided by the agency. Reason for coverage: scheduling need.

Clinical scope and volume

• Average daily volume: 10–15 patients
• Case mix: ~75% interventional, 25% noninvasive, plus nuclear cardiology studies
• Duties: perform interventional procedures (angioplasty, stenting), manage inpatient consults and admissions, conduct noninvasive evaluations, interpret nuclear cardiology (Cardiolyte, thallium), and provide 24-hour beeper call coverage for cardiology emergencies

Requirements

• Board-certified or eligible in Interventional Cardiology
• Active California medical license and DEA registration
• Minimum 2 years of recent hospital-based clinical experience in the specialty
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, FLURO
• Proficiency reading nuclear cardiology studies and using Epic EMR
