Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide cardiac anesthesia (approx. 80% structural, 20% pump)
• Provide general anesthesia for non-cardiac cases
• Perform intraoperative TEE (basic or advanced)
• Place arterial lines, central lines, and PA catheters
• Perform regional and neuraxial anesthesia (spinal, epidural, extremity blocks); manage post-op epidurals/blocks
• Manage intraoperative ventilation and acute volume/BP issues
• Take beeper call for cardiac coverage on weeknights/weekends

Qualifications

• Board: BC required (Board Eligible minimum)
• Fellowship: Preferred
• Experience: Recent TEE experience (30–40 cases in past year); proficiency with arterial/central lines and regional blocks
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS; TEE certification (basic or advanced) required
• Other: Cardiac-trained; collegial and flexible
• CRNA supervision: preferred
