Assignment overview

• Locum coverage providing outpatient medical oncology care in a collaborative, patient-focused practice.
• Ideal for a generalist Medical Oncologist comfortable managing both solid tumor oncology and benign hematology.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate and manage adult patients with a range of oncologic conditions.
• Provide comprehensive medical oncology care, including chemotherapy administration and supportive care.
• Assess and manage benign hematology issues as needed.
• Develop individualized treatment plans and adjust therapies based on response and toxicity.
• Coordinate care with advanced practice providers, nurses, pharmacists, and other specialists.
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment options, and follow-up.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record.

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Medical Oncology.
• Demonstrated experience in general medical oncology required.
• Experience with benign hematology preferred.
• Active Connecticut medical license or ability to obtain one.
