Locums Hospitalist Physician

We are seeking a Locums Hospitalist Physician to provide inpatient coverage in Irvine, Kentucky. This short-term assignment offers a combination of onsite hospital coverage and beeper call while caring for an adult patient population in a collaborative community hospital setting.

Assignment Details

• Coverage Dates: August 6, 2026 (8:00 AM) – August 10, 2026 (8:00 AM)
• Schedule: Onsite daily from 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM, with beeper/phone call coverage when offsite
• Weekend Coverage: Yes
• On-Call: Yes
• Call Type: Beeper/Phone Call
• Call Ratio: 3–6
• Trauma Level: Level IV
• EMR: Epic

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive inpatient hospitalist care for adult patients.
• Manage admissions, daily rounding, consultations, and discharges.
• Care for a patient population that is 100% adult, with approximately 50% geriatric patients.
• Provide medical coverage for the hospital's inpatient medical unit, including management of the facility's 1-bed ICU as appropriate.
• Respond to inpatient calls and medical emergencies while on beeper call.
• Collaborate with nursing staff, specialists, and ancillary services to ensure high-quality patient care.
• Complete timely and accurate documentation using Epic.

Qualifications

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
• Active, unrestricted Kentucky medical license.
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications.
• Active DEA registration.
