Schedule & call

• Interventional call: either daily coverage (Mon–Sun days) or night block (Mon–Thu nights)
• General cardiology call: 7 days on / 7 days off (days)
• Call type: beeper
• Response times: 20 minutes for general calls; 30 minutes for STEMIs
• Support: 2–3 APPs

• Average daily volume: 30–40 patients/day
• Rounding: unassigned inpatient consults
• Case mix: general cardiology and interventional

Provider requirements

• Board: BC for general cardiology; BE for interventional cardiology
• State license: AR
• Certifications: ACLS

Core duties

• Provide inpatient cardiology consultations, daily rounding, and management of hospitalized patients
• Interpret echocardiograms and other cardiac diagnostics
• Perform diagnostic and interventional cardiology procedures as indicated
• Manage in-house cardiology emergencies, including acute coronary syndromes and STEMIs
• Meet specified call response times and collaborate with team on rotating shifts (days, weekends, nights)
