School-Based Occupational Therapist — Fort Collins, CO (Contract)

We’re looking for an Occupational Therapist to join school teams in Northern Colorado and help students access their education and participate fully in school life. You’ll work closely with teachers, families, and other specialists to evaluate needs, deliver targeted interventions, and support students’ progress toward IEP goals.

What you’ll bring

• Current NBCOT certification and an active Colorado occupational therapy license
• Colorado Department of Education Special Services Provider professional license
• Experience with school-aged students and a solid understanding of special education, IEPs, and educationally relevant OT practices (preferred)
• Skill conducting evaluations, writing clear reports, and documenting services in the District’s Medicaid system
• Strong verbal and written communication and proven collaboration skills with teachers, SLPs, PTs, psychologists, administrators, and families
• Commitment to student confidentiality and compliance with federal, state, and District regulations
• Successful completion of required fingerprinting and background checks before starting

What you’ll do

• Review student records, assessments, and IEPs to plan services
• Conduct OT evaluations, observations, screenings, and reassessments as needed
• Develop measurable, educationally relevant goals and intervention plans
• Implement individualized strategies for fine motor, visual-motor, sensory, self-care, positioning, assistive technology, and functional school participation
• Monitor progress toward IEP goals and adjust interventions based on data and student response
• Accurately document service delivery, attendance, and progress in designated systems and meet reporting timelines
• Participate in IEPs, eligibility meetings, multidisciplinary team meetings, and parent conferences
• Provide classroom consultation, recommend equipment or environmental modifications, and suggest practical strategies teachers and aides can use
• Use appropriate therapeutic materials, adaptive equipment, and assistive technology to support student success
• Serve multiple students at a school during the workday when needed and maintain professional boundaries with classwork/homework
• Follow District policies, safety procedures, ethical standards, and special education regulations
• Take on other duties consistent with the OT assignment as required
