Job Description
Children’s Hospital of Michigan is a leader in treating the most children for inpatient and outpatient cardiovascular care in southeastern Michigan. With an extensive team of attending and a dedicated nursing and technical staff, the Pediatric Cardiologists and Pediatric Cardiovascular surgeons at Children’s Hospital of Michigan provide a full range of advanced cardiac services for fetuses, newborns, infants, children, and adolescents with congenital or acquired heart disease, and for adults with congenital heart disease.
We are actively seeking Pediatric Cardiologists with interest in general cardiology, management of pulmonary hypertension, and Inter-stage single ventricle program to join our multi-disciplinary team in the Division of Cardiology.
Opportunity Highlights:
- Full-time, employed opportunity with academic responsibilities
- Join a team of 15 Pediatric Cardiologists that includes 2 interventionalists, 3 EP, 2 CV surgeons, 6 cardiac imagers, 4 fetal cardiologists, and two heart failure and transplant cardiologists.
- On service and on-call 4-6 weeks per year (Cardiology service)
- Flexible work week is comprised of 1 day of pulmonary hypertension or Inter-stage single ventricle clinic, 1-2 days of cardiology clinic, a day in outreach clinic and 1 administrative day; teaching required
- Participate in fellowship training, education and recruitment and career development
- Academic appointment through Central Michigan University
- Additional opportunities for inter-institutional teaching and research collaboration with Michigan State University and Wayne State University School of Medicine.
Additionally, we have research opportunities in the division and through departmental, inter-university, and extramural collaborations.
Candidate Requirements:
- MD or DO degree required
- Board eligible/Board certified in Pediatric Cardiology
- 1 year of advanced fellowship preferred but not required
- Experience in fellowship training, education and career development is welcomed but not required
- Ability to obtain licensure in the State of Michigan
- An interest in teaching and research highly preferred as resident/fellow teaching is expected
