Role overview
Provide patient-centered medical-surgical nursing using the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to deliver safe, effective care. Administer prescribed medications and treatments per approved techniques, hospital policies, standards of care, and state practice laws. Accurately document care and develop, initiate, and implement individualized patient plans of care, including patient and family education, as directed by physicians and hospital policy.

Responsibilities

• Apply clinical judgment and critical thinking to promote patient safety and positive patient experience; escalate concerns through the appropriate chain of command
• Support continuity of care by offering clinical expertise and guidance to other units/departments as needed
• Participate in unit performance improvement activities and shared governance initiatives
• Maintain compliance with documentation and care standards at all times
