Join a busy emergency department in Macon, Georgia, covering shifts at Piedmont Macon Medical Center through SCP Health - Locums. This locum tenens opportunity begins July 18, 2026 and is ongoing. Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance are provided.
What you’ll be walking into
- A 30-bed ED that averages about 110 patients per day, with a case mix typical for emergency medicine.
- Full specialty backup and a supportive team that includes physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants.
- Epic is the EMR.
Core responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive emergency care, including participation in trauma and resuscitation management.
- Perform emergency procedures as required (intubations, central lines, resuscitations).
- Supervise and collaborate with NPs and PAs (NP/PA supervision required).
- Document accurately and promptly in Epic.
Required qualifications
- BC/BE in Emergency Medicine (ABMS/AOA).
- Residency training in an ACGME-accredited Emergency Medicine program.
- Active Georgia medical license and active DEA (with GA address).
- Certifications: ACLS and PALS required; ATLS required unless ABEM-certified.
- Recent clinical activity logs for the past two years and at least 20 hours of CME per year.
Privileges & logistics
- Hospital privileges are required; temporary privileges are available under certain conditions.
- Coverage reason: locum coverage.
