Required Clinical Competencies
Required:

• Management of low- and high-risk pregnancies
• Performance and interpretation of OB ultrasounds
• Routine and complicated vaginal deliveries (including low forceps)
• Decision-making and performance of cesarean deliveries
• Management of breech, multiple births, abruptions, VBACs
• Repair of 3rd and 4th degree lacerations
• Office/minor gynecology (IUD, cystoscopy, colposcopy, cryosurgery, LEEP)
• Surgical gynecology: open and diagnostic/minor laparoscopic procedures (tubal ligation, LOA), operative/major procedures (ectopic pregnancy, oophorectomy, cystectomy, extensive LOA); laser certification where applicable

Preferred:

• Fetal heart rate interpretation (NST/CST/FSE)
• Level I (screening/viability) and Level II (targeted/anatomic) ultrasound interpretation

Requirements

• Board certified in OB/GYN
• Active NC medical license
• Active NC DEA
• NC Medicaid credential (enrollment)
• PECOS enrollment and NPI
• Actively delivering babies with case logs from past 12–24 months
• Fully vaccinated as required by facility
• No recent malpractice cases

Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide 24-hour on-call coverage with 20-minute response time
• Daily rounding on obstetric/postpartum patients
• Perform emergent and routine C-sections and vaginal deliveries
• Perform emergent gynecologic surgeries (e.g., ectopic pregnancy, oophorectomy)
• Manage high-risk deliveries and coordinate transfers to higher-level NICU when indicated
