Join a well-supported emergency team in Medford, OR, providing locum tenens coverage beginning Nov 1, 2026 and continuing ongoing. You’ll work inpatient clinical shifts (typically 9am–9pm or 11pm–6am), covering 4–8 shifts per month to supplement the existing staff. Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance are covered by the agency.

What the shift looks like

• Typical daily ED volume averages 16 patients; fast track handles about 9,000 visits annually.
• Patient mix is mostly adult (≈80%), with pediatric (≈19%) and neonatal (≈1%) cases.
• Roughly 25% of patients are admitted and 75% discharged.
• Fast track and acute care beds: 16 acute beds, 4 hallway beds, and a 6-bed fast track.

Facility and support

• Level III trauma center using Epic EMR.
• ED support includes 6 RNs and 3 office staff on shift, plus 24-hour services: anesthesia, cath lab, general and orthopedic surgery, neurosurgery, radiology, laboratory, and OR response. L&D is available and ED staff respond to house codes. Admitting physicians write admission orders.

Credentials and requirements

• Board certified or board eligible in Emergency Medicine (BC or BE; BE acceptable within 3–5 years of residency).
• Active Oregon medical license and DEA registration required.
• ATLS certification required.

Core responsibilities

• Provide full-spectrum emergency care and stabilization for medical, trauma, cardiac, and respiratory emergencies.
• Perform common ED procedures as privileges allow (e.g., suturing, intubation, central line placement).
• Collaborate with nurses, consultants, and ancillary services to coordinate care.
• Document encounters accurately and in a timely manner in Epic.
