Board Eligible/Board Certified Emergency Medicine Physician — Community Hospital near Boston

We’re looking for a Board Eligible or Board Certified Emergency Medicine physician to join a well-established community hospital just south of Boston. You’ll be part of a collaborative, physician-led Emergency Department with experienced colleagues, excellent specialty support, flexible, physician-driven scheduling, and strong earning potential.

What you’ll find here

• A busy ED with roughly 60,000 visits per year.
• Daily coverage includes 84 physician hours and 36 APP hours. Overnight has two physicians from 1:00 AM–7:00 AM.
• Robust specialty support: Surgery, Anesthesia, Obstetrics, Neonatology, a 24-hour Cardiac Cath Lab, and dedicated Hospitalist services.

Compensation and schedule

• Base rate: $230 per hour, plus productivity and quality bonuses.
• Annual bonus potential up to $40,000.
• Night shift differential: an additional $325 per shift.
• Full-time schedule: approximately 15 shifts per month, primarily 8.5-hour shifts.
• Scheduling is flexible and driven by physicians to support work–life balance.

Clinical responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage a wide range of emergency presentations.
• Perform procedures as clinically indicated.
• Collaborate closely with physicians, APPs, nursing staff, and specialists to ensure high-quality patient care.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR.

Qualifications

• Board Eligible or Board Certified in Emergency Medicine.
• Eligible for Massachusetts medical licensure.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• ATLS required until Emergency Medicine board certification is achieved.
