Locums Neuroendovascular Surgeon — Level I Trauma Center, 1wk/mo Stroke/Thrombectomy Coverage (Epic)

A Level I Trauma Center in Youngstown, Ohio seeks a locum neuroendovascular physician to provide dedicated stroke and neuroendovascular coverage for a comprehensive neuroscience program managing acute ischemic stroke and complex neurovascular disease.

Position highlights

• Coverage: one week per month (7 days on / 7 days off)
• Schedule: 7:00 AM–7:00 PM with 24-hour stroke and neuroendovascular call responsibilities
• Call structure: 12 hours in-house and 12 hours as beeper backup, adjusted to departmental needs
• Weekend coverage required
• EMR: Epic
• Facility: Level I Trauma Center

Key responsibilities

• Provide continuous neuroendovascular on-call coverage while assigned
• Respond to Emergency Department stroke alerts at any hour during coverage
• Evaluate and manage patients with acute ischemic stroke and other neurovascular emergencies
• Perform mechanical thrombectomy and other indicated neuroendovascular procedures
• Collaborate closely with neurology, neurosurgery, emergency medicine, critical care, and multidisciplinary stroke teams
• Participate in inpatient consultations and ongoing neurovascular patient management
• Accurately document care in Epic

Qualifications

• Board certified in an appropriate specialty with neuroendovascular expertise
• Active Ohio medical license
• Current BLS certification
