Overview
A Springfield, Ohio acute care hospital (non‑trauma) seeks a locum vascular surgeon for short‑term, 24‑hour inpatient call coverage. Care will focus on adult and geriatric vascular surgery patients in a collaborative hospital setting. EMR: Epic.
Assignment Details
- Coverage dates: August 7, 2026, 7:00 AM – August 10, 2026, 7:00 AM
- Shift: 24‑hour call (7:00 AM–7:00 AM)
- Weekend coverage: required
- Setting: 100% inpatient
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 24‑hour vascular surgery call coverage
- Evaluate and treat vascular emergencies and perform emergency vascular procedures as indicated
- Manage postoperative care for vascular surgery patients
- Respond to inpatient and ED consults/referrals
- Collaborate with hospitalists, emergency medicine, nursing, and specialty teams to coordinate care
- Accurately document all patient encounters in Epic
Practice Details
- Patient population: adults and geriatrics
- Typical inpatient census: 2–4 patients (varies with hospital census and sign‑out)
- Case mix: broad range of inpatient vascular surgery cases and postoperative management
Required Qualifications
- Board certified in Vascular Surgery
- Active Ohio medical license
- Current DEA registration
- Current ACLS certification
