Locums Orthopedic Surgeon — Trauma & Hip Nailing Expert, 24-hr Call (Paducah, KY)

Location: Paducah, Kentucky (regional medical center). EMR: Epic.

Schedule

• 24-hour call coverage (7:00 AM – 7:00 AM)
• Weekend coverage required

Core responsibilities

• Provide 24-hour orthopedic call for emergency and inpatient consultations
• Evaluate and manage acute orthopedic injuries and trauma
• Perform operative and non-operative procedures as indicated, including fracture management, dislocations, amputations, deformity correction, and musculoskeletal tumor care
• Perform hip fracture fixation (hip nailing procedures required)
• Perform total joint procedures (primary, revision, and repairs) of hip, knee, and shoulder
• Perform arthroscopic procedures
• Perform spinal surgery (cervical, thoracic, lumbar) with or without instrumentation as clinically appropriate
• Coordinate care with emergency medicine, hospitalists, anesthesia, nursing, and rehabilitation teams
• Document all encounters in Epic

Required qualifications

• Board certified in Orthopedic Surgery
• Orthopedic Surgery fellowship completion
• Active Kentucky medical license or eligibility via IMLC
• Active DEA registration
• Current BLS certification
• COVID-19 vaccination required
• Demonstrated experience with hip nailing procedures
