Locum Tenens General Surgeon — Ongoing Opportunity in Dickinson, ND

We’re looking for a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible General Surgeon to join a collaborative team in Dickinson, North Dakota, for an ongoing locum tenens engagement. This role blends clinic work, scheduled operative cases, and call coverage, giving you a varied and rewarding workload.

What the role looks like

• Ongoing coverage with a schedule of about 14 working days per month and roughly 10 days of call.
• Practice setting includes inpatient care, outpatient clinic, scheduled surgery, and emergency call.
• Clinic duties: evaluate and manage general surgery patients, including pre- and post-operative care. Typical daily census is around 15 patients.
• During a 24-hour call shift you can expect to manage 0–5 general surgery patients on average.
• Scheduled surgeries are performed Monday–Friday; emergency surgery call is covered 24/7 as assigned.

• Abdominal surgery (open and laparoscopic)
• Endoscopy
• Liver and spleen procedures
• Stomach and colon surgery
• Gallbladder surgery (cholecystectomy)
• Appendectomy

Required qualifications

• Board Certified in General Surgery or Board Eligible (within 3 years of completing a U.S. residency)
• Active North Dakota medical license
• Current DEA registration
• ATLS and PALS certifications
