Locum Cardiac Surgery NP or PA — Outpatient (Hackensack, NJ)

Full-time locum tenens position in Hackensack, NJ covering a leave of absence. Outpatient-only role within an established cardiac surgery team.

Compensation

• $125 per hour

Schedule & Setting

• Monday–Friday, four 10-hour shifts per week (alternating day off)
• Outpatient clinic

Clinical Responsibilities

• Evaluate and manage preoperative and postoperative cardiac surgery patients
• Average caseload: ~10 patients per day
• Perform minor postoperative procedures (e.g., wound debridement, wound packing)
• Coordinate care and communicate closely with cardiac surgeons and AP providers to ensure continuity

Practice Environment

• Work with 5 cardiac surgeons and 5 outpatient advanced practice providers
• Collaborate with the Clinical APN Manager and inpatient NP/PA team
• Administrative and clinical support: clerical coordinators, scheduling staff, certified medical assistants (CMAs), office supervisor, office manager

Qualifications

• NP or PA with cardiac surgery experience
• Active New Jersey license
• Current DEA and CDS registration
• Prior experience managing cardiac surgery patients in outpatient or surgical practice preferred
