Job Description
We are seeking a part-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join a Rapid Care practice in Martinsburg, West Virginia. This role offers flexible scheduling and the opportunity to deliver high-quality care for a range of acute illnesses and minor injuries in a collaborative, team-based setting.
Position overview
As an Advanced Practice Provider (APP), you will evaluate, diagnose, treat, and provide follow-up care for patients with acute and episodic medical conditions. You will collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and specialists to create and implement individualized treatment plans, ensure timely referrals, and maintain exceptional patient satisfaction and documentation.
Key responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive assessments, diagnose, and treat acute illnesses and minor injuries
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests and perform procedures within scope and credentialing
- Provide patient education and clear discharge instructions
- Coordinate referrals and follow-up care as needed
- Maintain accurate, timely medical records
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
Qualifications — Nurse Practitioner
- Master’s degree from a CCNE-accredited nursing program
- National APRN certification (FNP or ACNP preferred)
- Licensed or eligible for RN and APRN licensure in West Virginia
- Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and ATLS required; PALS encouraged
Qualifications — Physician Assistant
- Graduate of an ARC-PA–approved PA program (Bachelor’s or Master’s degree)
- NCCPA certification required
- Licensed or eligible for licensure through the West Virginia medical or osteopathic board
- Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and ATLS required
Experience and skills
- Acute care, urgent care, or emergency medicine experience preferred; new graduates considered
- Strong clinical assessment, decision-making, and independent practice skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with physicians and clinical staff
