PRN Neurosurgery NP/PA — Will Train New Grads First Assist OR Role Rapid City, SD

We’re looking for a motivated Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our expanding Neurosurgery team in Rapid City, SD. This is a great opportunity for experienced APPs as well as new graduates or early-career clinicians—if you have a solid clinical foundation and a passion for surgical care, we’ll provide the training to help you grow.

What you’ll do:

• Round on inpatients, perform consults, and manage post-operative follow-ups under neurosurgeon supervision
• First-assist in the operating room for a variety of neurosurgical procedures
• Perform and assist with bedside procedures within your scope of practice
• Manage clinic patients, including pre-op and post-op evaluations and conservative care plans
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment options, surgical care, and follow-up
• Work closely with neurosurgeons, nursing staff, and other specialists to ensure coordinated, high-quality care
• Accurately document all encounters and procedures in the EMR
• Participate in shared call coverage as part of a team rotation

What we’re looking for:

• Graduate of an accredited NP or PA program
• Current or eligible for South Dakota licensure
• BLS and ACLS required (or able to obtain prior to start)
• Surgical or neurology/neurosurgery experience is a plus, but not required—training will be provided
• Strong communication, organizational, and critical-thinking skills
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative, hands-on environment
