Location: Amherst and Northampton, Massachusetts
Position summary:
Provide clinical leadership and oversight for primary care practices in Northampton and Amherst. Maintain an active clinical practice (70%) and dedicate administrative time (30%) to quality, safety, operations, and provider support. Ensure patient-centered, efficient, and compliant care while driving population health and practice improvement.
Clinical/administrative split:
- Clinical patient care: 70%
- Administrative/leadership: 30%
Core responsibilities:
- Lead clinical quality, patient safety, and care standardization initiatives
- Mentor, evaluate, and support primary care providers; lead performance improvement
- Ensure regulatory compliance and oversee risk management and credentialing processes
- Optimize clinical workflows, staffing models, and care delivery efficiency
- Design and implement population health and value-based care programs
- Use EHR and clinical data to monitor outcomes, guide interventions, and report metrics
- Improve patient experience and manage service recovery processes
- Collaborate with operations, care management, and payer partners
Compensation & benefits:
- Salary: $250,000–$300,000 plus bonuses

Qualifications:
- MD or DO with active Massachusetts license or willing to obtain
- Board certified or eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
- 2–5 years outpatient primary care experience
- Prior medical director or lead physician experience
- Demonstrated clinical leadership, communication, and team-building skills
- Experience with population health, payer programs, or practice transformation
- Training or experience in leadership, quality improvement, or informatics preferred
