Locum tenens opportunity for an Interventional Pain physician in Charlotte, NC, covering an outpatient in-office procedure suite. This procedure-only role supports a high-volume adult pain practice (approximately 25–30 procedures/day) focused entirely on interventional pain procedures. No new patient evaluations, follow-ups, or medication management required.

Schedule & Length

  • Start: As soon as credentialed (≈1 week)
  • Duration: 3 months, with option to extend
  • Coverage: 4–6 shifts/month
  • Typical hours: Mon–Thu 8:00 AM–12:00 PM & 1:00 PM–5:00 PM; Fri 8:00 AM–2:00 PM

Facility & Systems

  • Established outpatient interventional pain practice (25+ years) with multiple regional locations
  • Fully equipped in-office procedure suite with fluoroscopy and RF generator
  • EMR: eClinicalWorks

Procedures Required

  • Cervical, thoracic, lumbar epidural steroid injections
  • Facet joint blocks; radiofrequency ablation (RFA)
  • Sacroiliac and peripheral joint injections
  • Spinal cord stimulator trials; kyphoplasty
  • Stellate ganglion, celiac plexus, lumbar sympathetic, superior hypogastric plexus, ganglion impar, and Gasserian ganglion blocks
  • Occipital nerve blocks
  • Fluoroscopy-guided interventional procedures

Qualifications

  • Active NC medical license required prior to credentialing (client will assist with licensing)
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anesthesiology or Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R)
  • Interventional pain fellowship preferred
  • Comfortable working within strict pain-management compliance protocols

Responsibilities

  • Perform high-volume outpatient interventional procedures using fluoroscopy and specialized equipment
  • Maintain accurate documentation in eClinicalWorks
  • Work collaboratively with nursing and support staff to ensure efficient, high-quality, patient-centered care
  • Adhere to practice protocols and regulatory compliance standards

Credentialing & Compliance

  • Credentialing timeframe: approximately 1 week
  • Providers must be comfortable operating within established pain management compliance guidelines
