We’re seeking an interventional cardiologist for locum tenens coverage at a hospital in Gettysburg, PA. This role runs from Aug 28, 2026 through Nov 27, 2026 with specific coverage blocks: Aug 28 (7:00 AM) – Aug 31 (7:00 AM) and Oct 5 (7:00 AM) – Oct 9 (5:00 PM).
Schedule and call
- Primary clinical shifts: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM.
- Weeknight coverage: beeper call from home, 4:00 PM–7:00 AM.
- Weekend coverage: ST-elevation MI (STEMI) in-house call, 7:00 AM–7:00 AM.
- Expect to cover general cardiology services on weekends as needed.
Clinical expectations
- Average volume: about 15 consults per day and roughly 3 procedures per day.
- Provide hospital consultations and perform inpatient and outpatient cardiac catheterizations.
- Perform and interpret transesophageal echos (TEEs), transthoracic echo reads, and cardiac windows.
- Manage STEMI call responsibilities, communicate promptly with referring physicians, and keep documentation current.

- Department size: 74 beds.
- EMR: Epic.
Credentials and logistics
- Hospital privileges required; temporary privileges can be arranged for urgent starts.
- Credentialing timeline: approximately 120 days.
- Licensing: active PA license or participation in the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC).
- Board certification: BC or truly BE in Interventional Cardiology.
- DEA registration required.
