Clinical Scope

• Provide psychiatric consultation for Emergency Department and inpatient medical units.
• Deliver tele-consult coverage for regional hospitals as needed.
• Evaluate and manage a broad range of psychiatric conditions, including anxiety disorders, affective disorders, ADHD, personality disorders, eating and developmental disorders, psychotic and organic disorders.
• Collaborate with NPs and PAs who handle the majority of ED consults.
• Maintain thorough documentation in Epic EMR.

Patient Volume & Support

• Average daily consults: 5–7
• Typical support team: 3 RNs and 1 PA/NP
• ED consults are largely managed by the consult team NP/PA.

Privileges & Compliance

• Hospital privileges required; temporary privileges available.
• Required procedures/clinical competencies: management of anxiety, affective, ADHD, personality, eating, developmental, psychotic, and organic disorders.

Qualifications

• Board certified in Psychiatry.
• Active MN and WI state licenses, or participation in IMLC.
• Valid DEA registration.
