Requirements

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school
• Board-certified or board-eligible in Psychiatry
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited psychiatry training program
• Active DEA registration
• BLS and ACLS certification
• Prior experience in correctional, forensic, or inpatient psychiatric settings preferred

Primary Responsibilities

• Perform psychiatric assessments and screenings for patients in the correctional inpatient setting
• Develop, implement, and revise individualized treatment plans
• Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications; monitor efficacy and adverse effects
• Provide crisis intervention as needed
• Complete timely, accurate clinical documentation and charting
• Fulfill scheduled assignments and perform other duties as requested by the facility
