Required clinical skills & procedures

• Arthroscopy
• Total joint replacement (hip, knee, other)
• Joint revision/repair (shoulder, hip, knee, other)
• Hand surgery (tendon release/repair, peripheral nerve surgery)
• Spinal surgery with and without instrumentation (cervical, thoracic, lumbar)
• Percutaneous disc surgery
• ED management: closed reductions, I&D, treatment of wrist/ankle/hip fractures
• Stabilize and transfer long-bone trauma as needed

Duties & responsibilities

• Provide 24-hour general orthopedic call coverage, including ED consults and admissions
• Manage 0–3 consults/day and phone consults
• Perform indicated surgeries and procedures during call
• Stabilize and arrange transfers for trauma patients
• Document care promptly and accurately in MediTech

Requirements & credentials

• Board certified (BC) required
• NC medical license required
• DEA required
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, ATLS, PALS, ABLS
• Must be vaccinated
• Must be credentialed with Medicaid/Medicare and enrolled in PECOS
