Locums Tenens Urologist — Inpatient/Outpatient Call Coverage (Paducah, KY)

We’re seeking a urology physician to provide reliable inpatient and limited outpatient coverage in Paducah, KY. This is a locums tenens opportunity that begins ASAP and continues on an ongoing basis. You’ll work closely with onsite APRNs and hospital staff to manage inpatient consults, emergencies, and a modest daily caseload.

What the schedule looks like

• 24-hour in-house call shifts (7 a.m.–7 a.m.)
• 7–10 shifts per month
• Typical call ratio: 4–6
• Coverage type: clinical plus call

Patient mix and volume

• Adult patient population
• Average daily volume: 6–12 patients
• Case types: general urology, ESWL (performed on Tuesdays), advanced endoscopic procedures, ureteroscopy

Facility and support

• EMR: EPIC
• Support: 2 APRNs available for clinic and ambulatory support
• Trauma level: N/A

Privileges, credentialing, and logistics

• Hospital privileges required; temporary privileges available
• Credentialing timeline: approximately 90 days
• Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance provided

Required qualifications and certifications

• Board Certified or truly Board Eligible in Urology
• Active KY medical license or Universal License (IMLC) accepted
• Active DEA registration
• Laser certification required for certain procedures
• ACLS preferred

Key responsibilities

• Provide in-house on-call coverage for inpatient urology consults and emergencies
• Perform general urology procedures, including scheduled ESWL days
• Perform advanced endoscopic techniques and ureteroscopy
• Collaborate with ambulatory APRNs for clinic support and patient follow-up
• Manage inpatient urological cases with appropriate disposition to outpatient procedures as needed
