We’re seeking a dedicated orthopedic surgeon to provide 24-hour locum tenens coverage at a hospital in Paducah, KY. You’ll care for adults, children, and older adults across a broad trauma and elective mix — from acute fractures and dislocations to joint replacements, arthroscopy, and spine procedures.

What you’ll do

• Provide continuous emergency orthopedic coverage (24-hour call shifts, 7a–7a).
• Evaluate and manage trauma patients and urgent consults.
• Perform general orthopedic procedures as well as hip and knee repair/revision, hip nailing, fracture fixation, amputations when necessary, and tumor or deformity management.
• Conduct total joint replacements and revisions (hip, knee, shoulder) and arthroscopic surgeries.
• Perform spinal procedures with and without instrumentation (cervical, thoracic, lumbar) as indicated.
• Document care in Epic and participate in the on-call rotation.

Requirements

• Board certified or eligible (BC)
• Active Kentucky medical license or participation in IMLC
• Active DEA registration
• BLS certification
• Orthopedic fellowship preferred
• Clean professional record and ability to cover the listed start date
• COVID vaccination preferred

• Locum tenens, inpatient service setting
• Call-only coverage beginning Oct 7, 2026 and ongoing
• EMR: Epic
