School Registered Nurse (RN) — Contract Position for Sarasota County Schools, FL

Adelphi seeks a Registered Nurse to deliver on-site nursing services for a school in Sarasota County, Florida. The RN will partner with school administration, staff, families, and healthcare providers to support students’ health needs in line with professional standards and district policies.

Location & Schedule

• Sarasota County, Florida (school-based)
• Contract assignment, Monday–Friday during regular school sessions; schedule set based on school needs
• Rate: $45/hour

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited ADN or BSN program
• Active Florida RN license
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Minimum 1 year nursing experience (school, pediatric, or community health preferred)
• Minimum 1 year experience working with students with multiple disabilities
• Minimum 1 year participating in IEP meetings
• Experience with children who have chronic health conditions and disabilities preferred

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care for students with acute and chronic conditions
• Administer medications and treatments per orders and protocols
• Assess student health concerns and respond to medical emergencies
• Develop, implement, and maintain Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs)
• Participate in IEP and Section 504 meetings as needed
• Maintain accurate health records and required documentation
• Train and educate school staff on student health needs and emergency procedures
• Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal health regulations
• Perform additional duties as assigned
