Locum tenens opportunity in Bridgeport, CT covering inpatient adult cardiac surgery care from 09/01/2026–12/31/2026. Clinical-only hospital position supporting the cardiac surgery service with specialty backup and a multidisciplinary team.

Schedule

• Three 13-hour shifts per week (7:00 AM–8:00 PM or 7:00 PM–8:00 AM)
• Rotating weekends every 3–6 weeks

Clinical Scope

• Provide inpatient cardiac surgery coverage, including rounding and admissions
• Assist in cardiac surgery procedures in the OR
• Manage postoperative patients, including chest tube insertion and ongoing chest tube care
• Document patient care in Epic and collaborate closely with the cardiac surgery team and seven available APPs

Patient Population and Case Mix

• Adult patients; case mix focused on cardiac surgery (OR and inpatient)

Qualifications

• Active Connecticut NP or PA license
• Board certified or board eligible as applicable
• Minimum required experience in cardiac surgery; inpatient cardiac surgery experience preferred
• First assist experience preferred (inpatient first assist acceptable)
• Epic experience preferred
