Locum tenens opportunity in Chesterfield (St. Louis metro) providing outpatient urgent care services for adults and children. Coverage begins Oct 19, 2026 and is ongoing. Typical schedule: Monday–Friday 8:00 AM–8:00 PM; weekends 9:00 AM–5:00 PM (transitioning to 12‑hour weekend shifts). Travel, lodging, and malpractice provided.

Clinical environment and volume

• Setting: Outpatient urgent care clinic
• EMR: Epic
• Onsite diagnostics: X‑ray, EKG
• Support: Medical assistant and office staff
• Average daily volume: 36–48 patients
• Case mix: Urgent care presentations, pediatrics, and minor procedures

Qualifications

• Board certified/eligible in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, or Emergency Medicine (ABMS or American Osteopathic Board)
• Active Missouri license or participation in the IMLC
• BLS (AHA)
• Residency trained; BC/BE within five years of residency
• Minimum 50 patient encounters in the past 12 months
• Comfortable with Epic (preferred) and performing minor procedures (sutures, casts, splints)
• Able to interpret EKGs and plain radiographs
• Willing to work 12‑hour shifts when required
• Comfortable treating both adult and pediatric patients

Responsibilities

• Provide urgent care evaluation and management for minor injuries and illnesses across the lifespan
• Perform minor procedures: suturing, wound care, incision and drainage, splinting, and casting
• Interpret X‑rays and EKGs and act on findings appropriately
• Collaborate with MAs, radiology techs, and office staff to deliver efficient patient care
• Document accurately and promptly in Epic
