Locum tenens opportunity in Cottonwood, AZ providing hospital and clinic-based general orthopedic coverage from Aug 7–21, 2026. This role requires 24-hour beeper call with clinical shifts structured as 7 a.m.–7 a.m., delivering both in-house emergency care and scheduled surgical cases.

Clinical responsibilities:

• Provide continuous orthopedic on-call coverage, responding to emergency consults and performing necessary operative interventions.
• Manage pelvic and acetabular fractures and pediatric orthopedic cases.
• Average caseload: approximately 2 surgical cases per day and 6 new consults daily.
• Collaborate with hospital staff and offer minimal primary medical coverage as needed; supported in the OR by scrub techs.

Facility and system:

• Hospital and clinic setting using Cerner EMR.
• Coverage is supplemental.

Qualifications and logistics:

• Active Arizona medical license required (IMLC accepted).
• Board certified or eligible in Orthopedic Surgery.
• DEA registration and BLS certification required.
• Minimum 1 year of orthopedic surgery experience.
• Hospital privileges required; credentialing timeline approximately 21 days.
