Locum tenens opportunity in Portsmouth, OH providing inpatient and outpatient urology coverage (ASAP – ongoing). Clinical and beeper call coverage with 24-hour shifts (30-minute response). Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM. Travel, lodging, and malpractice covered by the agency.

Clinical duties

• Deliver outpatient urology care (avg. 15–20 patients/day) and hospital-based care (avg. 4–8 procedures/day).
• Perform office procedures: vasectomy, prostate biopsies, cystoscopy with stent removal, prostate and renal/bladder ultrasound (with biopsy), TRUS biopsies.
• Perform hospital procedures: general urology and advanced endoscopic techniques, laparoscopic surgeries, PCNL, ureteroscopy with laser lithotripsy, TURP, radical/partial nephrectomy, Aquablation, green-light laser prostate procedures, interstim stage I & II, mid-urethral sling, penile prosthesis/plication, hernia repair, circumcision, cryoablation, and other listed inpatient surgeries.
• Supervise and collaborate with APPs, MAs, and clinic staff; participate in rounding and admissions.

Facility and resources

• Office: 2 procedure rooms, 1 UDS room, 6 exam rooms.
• Equipment: UDS machine, ultrasound with vaginal/rectal probe and Trophon, 2 cystoscopy monitors, 3–4 rigid cystoscopes, 8 flexible cystoscopes, disposable cystoscopes (2 monitors), bovie.
• EMR: MediTech.
• Support staff: 1 APP, 1 MA, 6 office staff, 1 surgery scheduler, 1 UDS technician.

Qualifications

• Board certified in Urology (BC required).
• Ohio medical license or participation in IMLC.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Hospital privileges required.
