Patient Volume & Duties

• Average daily volume: 15–18 patients
• Rounding: Yes
• Phone consults: 3–5 per shift
• Primary duties:
  • Provide weekend 8a–8a Vascular & Interventional Radiology coverage
  • Cover night call shifts 5:30p–9a as needed
  • Respond to beeper within 30 minutes
  • Perform scheduled daytime procedures 9a–5:30p on listed dates
  • Manage inpatient consults and phone consults

• Ultrasound-guided biopsies
• Abdominal aortogram with bilateral runoffs
• Pulmonary embolus extraction
• Peripheral angioplasty
• TIPS procedures
• Tunneled PICC and port placement
• IVC filter placement and removal
• Kyphoplasty
• Percutaneous biliary drain
• Percutaneous nephrostomy drain
• Dialysis fistula/graft procedures and declotting
• Embolization procedures (including coils)
• Tunneled Hickman and hemodialysis catheters
• Pleurex catheter placement
• Mammography procedures, needle localization, stereotactic biopsies

Requirements

• Board: BC/BE in Vascular & Interventional Radiology
• License: NM medical license
• Certifications: BLS
