Locum Tenens opportunity at Gulf Coast Medical Center (Lee Health) in Fort Myers, FL covering Jan 1–Jun 30, 2027. Shifts are 10 hours (12:00–22:00 and 13:00–23:00). Travel, lodging, and malpractice are provided.
Clinical setting and volume
- Emergency department with high-acuity adult and pediatric patients, including trauma.
- Typical load: ~20 patients per 10-hour shift (~2 patients/hour per physician).
Requirements
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine.
- Active Florida medical license required (IMLC not accepted).
- ATLS certification required (per Florida law).
- Current CV, completed Lee Attestation form, and clear NPDB.
Privileges & responsibilities
- ED hospital privileges required (ED privileges only).
- Provide timely recognition, evaluation, stabilization, and disposition of adult and pediatric patients with acute illness and injury.
- Manage high-acuity trauma cases in a busy ED.
- Complete all patient care and documentation within scheduled shift hours (no overtime expected).
- Coordinate as needed with other providers for float coverage to LMH and HPMC.
Compliance
- Maintain active Florida licensure and required ATLS certification throughout the assignment.
