Overview
We seek an experienced physician to serve as Medical Director for an outpatient HIV primary care clinic serving adults, including LGBTQ patients and people living with HIV/AIDS. The role combines clinical practice (approximately 15–18 patients/day) with administrative leadership and participation in a shared call schedule.
Clinical and Administrative Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive outpatient HIV primary care: diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of HIV/AIDS and related primary care conditions.
- Serve as clinical leader and Medical Director, collaborating closely with practice management and multidisciplinary clinical teams.
- Participate in shared on-call coverage.
- Deliver compassionate, culturally competent care to underserved populations, with a focus on LGBTQ health.
Team and Resources
- Supported by a Practice Manager, Medical Assistants, and Registered Nurses.
- Clinic engaged in HIV and LGBTQ health research.
Qualifications
- MD or DO with active California license (as specified).
- Specialty in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Adult-Gerontology, or Infectious Disease.
- Valid DEA registration and Furnishing License.
- Current CPR/BLS certification.
- AAHIVM certification required within 18 months of hire.
- Prior outpatient HIV/AIDS diagnosis and treatment experience.
- Ability to manage a daily panel of 15–18 patients.
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive base salary (location-dependent).
- Retention bonus up to $100,000; quarterly bonuses up to $3,500; bi-weekly productivity bonuses.
