Location: Las Cruces, NM (88011) — Inpatient & outpatient locum tenens coverage

Overview:
Seeking a board-certified/eligible urologist for supplemental locum tenens coverage beginning Sep 21, 2026 and ongoing. Schedule is hybrid Monday–Friday (clinic/OR/inpatient) with inpatient-only coverage Saturday–Sunday. Beeper call with a 20-minute response time. Travel, lodging, and malpractice provided by the agency.

Coverage windows:

• Sep 21–Oct 1, 2026
• Oct 5–12, 2026
• Nov 9–16, 2026
• Nov 23–30, 2026

Clinical duties:

• Half-day clinic coverage for consultations and follow-ups.
• Perform elective urologic surgeries in the OR.
• Inpatient rounding and management of active consults.
• Manage phone consults (approximately 3–10/day) and provide beeper call coverage.
• Collaborate with local urologists, nursing staff, urology techs, and hospitalists.

Patient population and case mix:

• Primarily adult patients with occasional pediatric cases.
• General urology focus with a mix of inpatient and outpatient care.

Required procedures and skills:
Required: general adult urology, renal and bladder ultrasound with biopsy, TRUS biopsies, fertility work-ups, incontinence procedures, penile prosthesis, and ESWL.
Preferred: pediatric urology, advanced endoscopic and laparoscopic techniques, percutaneous nephrolithotomy, ureteroscopy, radical cystectomy with ileo-loop conduit, radical prostatectomy, nephrectomy/partial nephrectomy with intraoperative ultrasound, pelvic node dissection, robotic surgery, adrenalectomy, renal transplant, and advanced pediatric procedures.

Facility and support:

• EMR: Athena (clinic), Medhost (hospital).
• On-site support: 1 MA, 2 office staff, nursing staff, urology techs, and local urologist backup.
• Hospital privileges required (temporary privileges are not available).

Requirements:

• Board-certified or eligible in Urology.
• BLS and ACLS required; fellowship preferred.
• EMR proficiency with Athena and Medhost.

Compensation and logistics:

• Locum tenens assignment with travel, lodging, and malpractice coverage provided by the agency.
