Locum tenens OB/GYN role in Stevens Point, WI providing inpatient and outpatient clinical coverage with call. Coverage begins Sep 4, 2026 and is ongoing, with specific scheduled blocks: Sep 4–11; Sep 25–Oct 1; Oct 16–23; Nov 16–22; Dec 4–7, 2026. Typical schedule: Monday–Friday daytime clinic (4 hours/day) plus 24-hour beeper call (call ratio 0–2; 30-minute response time). Agency covers travel, lodging, and malpractice.

Clinical scope and volume

• Average daily volume: 0–3 hospital patients and up to 6 clinic patients per day.
• Admissions and assigned rounding responsibilities required.
• Case mix includes obstetrics, gynecology, well-woman care, and deliveries.
• Work collaboratively with certified nurse midwives and other locum providers; serve as clinical resource for nursing staff.

Procedures required

• Obstetrics: low-risk and complicated pregnancies, fetal heart rate interpretation (NST/CST/FSE), amniocentesis, routine vaginal deliveries, low forceps, decision-making for and performance of C-sections, breech and multiple births, abruptions, VBACs, repair of 3rd–4th degree lacerations.
• Gynecologic surgery: open and laparoscopic diagnostic/minor (tubal ligation, lysis of adhesions) and operative/major procedures (ectopic management, oophorectomy, cystectomy, extensive LOA).
  Preferred skills
• High-risk pregnancy management and performance/interpretation of OB ultrasounds (Level I and Level II).
• Office/minor gynecology procedures (IUD insertion, cystoscopy, colposcopy, cryotherapy, LEEP).

Facility & support

• EMR: Epic.
• Support staff: RNs (2–3), MAs (1–2), office staff (2).
• Hospital privileges required; temporary privileges available.

Requirements

• Board eligible (board certified preferred).
• Active licensure via IMLC or state license as required.
• BLS certification required.
• Fellowship preferred.

Key duties

• Provide continuous 24-hour OB/GYN on-call coverage (including weekends).
• Maintain scheduled clinic sessions (4 hours/day, M–F) for OB/GYN and preventive visits.
• Review labs, manage in-basket communications, respond to nursing inquiries.
• Perform indicated deliveries and gynecologic procedures consistent with scope above.
